Coach Biography

Candice Moxley joins the Buckeye staff after two seasons as an assistant coach at Robert Morris where she was responsible for game strategy planning, video review, practice planning and opponent scouting.

Prior to her stint at Robert Morris, Moxley was the Head On-Ice Instructor for Canadian Hockey Enterprises from 2002-2008. There, she was in charge of implementing on-ice practice plans for a variety of ages and skill levels. Moxley also worked at the Stephanie Boyd’s Female Hockey School where she developed practices targeted towards specific skills. From 2006-07, she served as an on-ice trainer and coach for Goulding Park Midget Boys AA Hockey where she was responsible for implementing pre-season conditioning and individual skills practices.

From 2005-07, Moxley acted as the assistant for the Markham District High School’s women’s varsity team. Before that, she worked at the New Ice Age Hockey School in Stouffville, ON as an instructor where she worked with players one-on-one and developed skill sessions.

During her time in the National Women’s Hockey League, Moxley led her team in scoring in 2008, was top 10 in the league in scoring in 2007 and was assistant captain from 2005-08. She also earned a silver medal at the ESSO Nationals and at the 2007 Provincial Championships.

Moxley played collegiately at Niagara University and led the Purple Eagles to an NCAA Frozen Four appearance in 2002, while also being named the Niagara Women’s Hockey Co-Rookie of the year that season. She garnered many accolades during her time at Niagara, including 2004-05 team captain, 2002-2005 CHA All-Academic Team honoree, Taps Gallagher Award for Sportsmanship recipient and 2004-05 All-CHA Second Team honoree.
