The University of Maine women's hockey program is pleased to announce six new players who will be joining the Black Bears for the 2013-14 season. The six new players will help replace current leading scorer Brittany Dougherty and defensive workhorse Chloe Tinkler, both who have played valuable minutes and had major impacts in all situations. The class will add size with two D coming in at 5'10" (Kristin Gilmour) and 6'0'' (Jessica Vallotton). The four forwards bring a multitude of talents to Maine, Sakundiak, Brigham and Boissonneault all possess speed, creativity, playmaking ability and the ability to make plays around defensemen and score goals. Kirkup is a big strong power forward who plays tough goal line to goal line and beats goalies with her hard net drive and her accurate shot.

"I am really excited about the class Richard Reichenbach, Tyler Bilton and Sara Simard have spent the last couple of years assembling. We are bringing in great character players who work hard and fit in to our culture. They will bring a higher skill set and level of experience that will instantly improve our team depth," said coach Maria Lewis.

Brigham was also named honorable mention All-Conference in 2010. After 21 games this season, Emilie has 26 goals and 18 assists for 44 points.
